Default Exhaust?

I would like to make my vehicle sound louder and more agressive, but i dont know what to do. i dont want to spend alot of money i would like to be able to do it myself. Any ideas?. i've heard about making holes in your exhaust and tailpipe but didnt know if it would actually work. thanks

Very bad idea, very ghetto. Simplest, cheapest way is to replace the factory muffler. Read through some threads in this section and you'll get plenty of ideas.

If you want a lift add hockey pucks or 2x4's <--- that's pretty much along the same lines.
A muffler even replaced at a shop shouldn't be more than $80 welded in. A straight through "Thrush" style would be throughty.
Maybe check out youtube for single exhaust mufflers on a 4.3 & hear how they sound with what options.
The holes in the exhaust should be after the muffler but if it were before it would A: be illegal & B: sound like chit IMO.
After the muffler, well try it & see what you think. Personally like Riddle said "totally ghetto".

If you want "throaty", try unbolting the muffler. I just did this yesterday to check a hunch I have about my idle problem. It sounded like my next door neighbors new F150 with a custom cat back exhaust system. Really nice but much too loud for my ears.

Or, maybe not.
