Default exhaust flapper

So I've seen a few post on moisture getting in the muffler when left over night. So My question is would the moisture problems be solved if a flapper be installed at the end of the tailpipe as the big rigs do. then again this wont work unless the pipe is facing strait or up.

No. Moisture gets pulled into the exhaust in the form of water vapor that is in the air (humidity dependent). As the air cools over night, the moisture condenses into water.

The only reason to have a rain cap is if your exhaust points straight up.

And even then.... I think the last time arigleft the dealer with a rain cap was in the 80's.

Exactly. Now everything is stainless so who cares about condensation in the pipes! LOL None of the tractors come with rain caps either anymore.
