Default Exhaust tip placement

For those of you who have bolt on tips, do you have the tail pipe far into the tip? Or the tip bolted as far to the tip of the tail pipe possible? Since my tail pipe sticks out enough, when I bolt the tip to the end it sticks out too much. I might cut off some tail pipe so I can put the tip at the actual tip of the tail pipe. Right now I have the tip moved far up the tailpipe so it doesn't stick out the side of the truck, but I think the tip sounds better at the very tip of the pipe.

Just cut off some of the tail pipe and slide it on there were you want it, I would just make sure it's on there enough to were if something hit it or grazed it , it would not fall off!!

Yeah, I finger tightened it on today just to see how it sounded and fit, and after a while of just sitting on the pipe, the vibrations loosened the bolts, then when my brother was driving I heard a vibration, I told him to stop and one of the bolts fell out so the tip started sliding off slowly. Haha.

Yea I would put it on were you want it to be then take and get some lock tight for extreme temps so they wont come off again!!

I'll probably get a nicer tip afer this to weld on, but for now it's just for looks. I picked it up at Autozone for like $5. Hahahah. :P
