I had started a thread in response to this, but just stopped... It seems that so many people just don't want to do the leg work any longer. Plus, they provide no information to help us out in helping them out. Sure, in this case, we know that it's an '01, but that's it... It would be nice to know if it's 2wd or 4wd cause that's a huge difference.

wow it is realy hard to understand what you are saying. you need to like proof read or something before you hit the "OK" button.

"Sorry about that, it is a 4 door, it also has 4 wheel drive. What happened was that i ran it without lube in it, and it striped the gears, and i heard that a 4.11 gear SET would make it faster. If this is wrong, then what do i need? Again sorry for all the confusion."----is this what ur trying to say???? also i would recommend a 3.73 or a 3.42 gear set if you're going to change it. A 4.11 is too much gear.

If it came with 3.42's and you go with a higher numerical gear like 3.73, 4.11, 4.56 it will give you more pulling power but make your engine run faster on the highway. If you switch the gears in the rear from 3.42 to say 4.11 you will have to do the same with the front differential or the 4WD will bind when you use it. I suggest you find 3.42's to put back in it so that you dont have to spend money doing the front also. If it is an S-10 blazer its a 7.625 carrier (most likely a 3-series) these same gear sets can be found in 1982 through 2002 camaros and firebirds. A lot of people take them out of the camaros and firebirds and install 3.73's and 4.11's this is why you can find used sets of 3.42 gears all over ebay and the internet for sale reall cheap. I have a few sets out of my SS and Z28 myself. If you have never done a gear swap before I dont suggest doing it, you need special tools as well such as a dial indicator not to mention plenty of shims, a press etc. If it is a full size blazer Yukon, Tahoe, K1500 etc. you can not use camaro and firebird gears. You need to find Blazer, suburban or Pickup gears that fit your full size blazer. Good luck
