I have a 2000 Blazer/Trailblazer 4x4. Local muffler shops want 180$ - 240$ for just stock muffler replacement including labor.

Jegs has the cat-back set for 160$ (http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/19331/10002/-1) and I assume you folks would recommend getting it welded instead of just using the clamps? Local shop said $100 and they would install and weld it all up with no warranty as it is not their parts. There is also a 75$ rebate for this muffler. http://www.dynomax.com/assets/promot...rup_online.pdf

Not looking for a loud exhaust, just looking for something that performs better and any better sounding is a bonus.

Or if anyone knows anyone decent near Waterford, MI, hollar as I am totally lost and there seems to be 500 muffler shops around hear and half of them do not call me back with estimates!

I just put this exhaust on my 97, the sound isn't way louder or anything, it adds a deeper sound (especially with an intake), performance wise it's been great, I feel the difference, I think you'd be happy with the dynomax for sure.

I installed this catback myself in about 30 minutes and had it welded up for $30. Save some money and install it yourself.
