Default Hose assembly from Air Pump

I put a new air pump & fuse in a '99 S-10, the hoses were cut off @ the pump on the old one. I found out there are no ports in the exhaust man. & no port by the cat. conv. nor diverter. Can a guy put a port in the exhaust so the vehic. is legal? The ck. eng. light is off now but the pump does nothing & the vehic. is not legal. ???

Some of them came without an AIR pump. Sounds kinda like the exhasut manifold has been replaced on that truck for one without.

Thanks Neo, need to see if i put a port on the pipe just past the exhaust man. will it still be legal. It would save a lot of work.

Since its not the factory design they might not pass it. Then again they might. Depends on the check station and how **** they are. If they are not **** about checking everything to exact detail I would prolly just return the AIR pump and run without it if its not throwing codes without it hooked up. As long as they don't run the VIN just tell them the bracket broke and you had to replace it with one that came off a truck with AIR.

It is illegal to remove that system so its up to you. I don't have to get mine checked and been running mine unhooked for years and don't plan on putting it back on my new engine when it goes in. Just one less part to tear up IMHO.
