Default How can I make my exhaust louder?

Out of curiousity, what can I do to make my exhaust louder. I have a series 40 muffler, stock pipe, stock headers, and stock cat.

would de-coring the cat make the exhaust any louder?

I don't want to waste the money that I spent on the muffler and remove it.

I am very disappointed in how not loud the exhaust is.

I heard that you can get like a resonator tip, and it will sound like there is no muffler at all under hard acceleration. Don't know how reliable that source is though. But an exhaust tip does change the sound.

You could run open headers, if you want to get a big ticket. hmmm...... I would say get a glass pack but you don't want to take off your current muffler. You could bust some holes in the exhaust (don't really)

de-coring the cat would a) only make it a little louder b) be illegal and c) make the air flow through the cat very turbulent and generally hurt performance.

best way to make it louder is to get a muffler that has a louder tone to it.

You could probably go to autozone or order one online. SummitRacing.com has some.

it wouldn't ruin the tone that is there now would it, and make sound all farty like a ricer would it?
