ok...i recentley put a cheap cold air intake on my 94jimmy...the intake was from pepboys...my dad is a pain in the *** about everything he is tellin me that the intake is no good because it is suking dirt into the motor and causing black smoke to come out the pipe..i have alot of friends that have intakes and not 1 of them said something like that...could it be true?

 

You probably didn't put it in right. You have a leak, especially if this problem is worse before the engine warms up completely. Pay particular attention to the bottom side of the intake hose clamp. That's the most likely location of your leak.
