Default intake

is is possible for a cold air intake to suck dirt and debree into the engine...my pops is seying that my cold air intake is sucking dirt in a ruining my engine....but how is this possible, theres no where dirt can possibley get in

It is possible, especially if you have any loose connections..... if you are running k&n be careful, because the oil in the filter can get on your MAS and make the truck run a little sluggish... its a quick fix with a q-tip though. .

Yea, it can, but its also one of THOSE debates... like if armorall ruins your dash, and if waxing scratches your clearcoat. there are a lot of variables, and like a tack said, loose connections and oil from a K&N can definately cause problems. some people say its a terrible idea to mess with your intake/filter, some say its not a prolem. It CAN happen, It DOES happen, but it doesnt mean it WILL happen.
