Good question...

I just always got more of the K&N oil rather than try something else. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has had success and/or failure trying something else.

I hate chancing stuff like that... I'm the same way with my snowmobile oil, the exhaust valves on it are finicky when it comes to oil type so I stick with the manufacturer's stuff.

I'd personally get the K&N oil... but if you decide to try something else go for it and let us know how you make out.

i have used the amosol spray on oil before and it works fine the only thing is it turns this real ugly purple because its blue and mixes with the red dye in the k&n oil.

What were you thinking about using? I'd spend the $10 and get K&N oil. That's just me though....
