loud noise in idle

recently when i start up my 95 blazer it sounds louder than normal. its starting to get annoying. at first i thought it was because i didnt let it warm up but, now it makes the noise when i hit the gas also. could this be the muffler or what..

does it click or rattle or clunk or squeek? what kind of noise? or does it just run at a higher rpm?

Does it make the noise even after its been running a while? I just remember that whenever I my blazer fire up it makes a massively loud "whooshing" (for lack of a better word). Is that it maybe? The whooshing always fades after about 5 min of regular driving...

Yeah, it's common, and VERY annoying!. It's the fan, the clutch fan before it gets warm and starts to slip (as it's supposed to). It's VERY loud, but all mine did it.

Open the hood with the engine running and try to pinpoint where it is coming from. We have no idea what your problem is. Do a sound clip. It would help.

nevermind i looked under the car and there was a huge hole in my muffler... got dual flowmasters installed monday it sounds very good now....
