Default Rough Idle, Loss of Power, Loud Exhaust

I have a quick question. I was told this was due to either bad spark plugs, bad distributer cap, or Oxygen sensor. But anyway I have a 1995 Chevy Blazer that has a rich gas smell, loss of power, and Idles rough. I have changed out my plugs and no change. Also the converter and/or muffler is extremely loud and rattles. What could be the cause of the rough idle, lack of power, and rich gas smell?

Mine does that when the EGR valve is stuck. Clean that and replace gasket with a screened one. Could be alot of stuff but start there its cheap and easy. Muffler is most likely muffler.

If your converter is rattling, loss of power, and rich gas smell, I'd say your cat converter is toast.

My cat's smell like rotten eggs, wrong kind of friskeys.
