Default Magnaflow exhaust question.

Ok, so sometime in the near future, I plan on getting my exhaust done at a shop. I really like how Flowmaster sounds on our trucks, but I have been recommended Magnaflow because not only does it also sound good, but it lasts longer.

With that said, I plan to get a direct fit, high flow cat from Magnaflow, along with a Magnaflow muffler, and have it all done at a shop. My question is, would this setup cause a "Service Engine Soon" light to pop up for any reason? My truck is a '96.

I don't see why it would. As long as you have a cat on there shouldn't be a problem.

So even if the magnaflow cat is high flow, it still won't cause the SES light to come on?

I just had a magnaflow direct fit cat put on... no issues with the SES light or anything else for that matter.

My high flow cat (magnaflow) didn't cause an SES light.

Ok, great. My truck is a '96, but I don't think that should matter. If the light didn't come on for you guys, I don't think I should have a problem even if mine is a '96. I already had a Magnaflow muffler welded on, and now I'm looking into replacing the cat with their direct fit high flow cat also. Thanks a lot.

I have read at times that high flow cat CAN cause the SES light, but won't necessarily cause it to go off.

I just went with a Dynomax super turbo on a 3" free flowing system... Mainly for price, and the fact it is a true 3" muffler...

The sound is nice, and also it defiantly increases hp to a noticeable level...I am satisfied with it...
