Need some ideas and opinions
Hey every 1 Im sorta going crazy here but hopefully some of your ideas can help me out .
Im working on my 88 gmc k2500
I dropped the transmission and had to remove the ypipe to get the flywheel plate off
any ways I broke all the studs in the manifolds even tho i warmed them up real good
I tryed easy outs and they broke
I broke 3 drill bits tonight
Im wondering whats a good brand for drill bits ?
What im planning to do is drill all 6 studs out
then bolt them up with bolts and nuts with the springs in between the flange like it was factory
I have a picture of one of the manifolds but its sorta bad quality sorry
I was originally going to cut the ypipe with a sawzal then weld it
but i went the other route and regretted it

Last time i purchased a cobalt 1/2' bit. It cost me $9.00 for 1 bit.
Ive learned the hard way with exhaust bolts etc to cut pipe and not touch the bolts. you can always reweld pipe.

If you could weld cast, you'd be set. Last time i welded cast it cracked in 3 days..

we use nickle rods to weld cast smaw stick weld anytime we break cast parts holds up real nice and we use irwin drill bits and the cobalt is by far the best bit for drilling hardened steel stainless should eat right through a grade 8 bolt dang geo i just noticed your dot is green again congrats lol
