Talking Which Perfomance Muffler

I want to replace the stock muffler with a performance muffler to give it a little more bark; any suggestions? I was thinking either flowmaster or magnaflow. My truck is V6 4.3 Liter 4dr.

Thanks,

BL Brown

Best bet would be to talk to a reputable exhaust shop about which muffler would working best for you. In my case I replaced the magnaflow muffler with a heavy duty gm muffler as suggested by the owner of the exhaust shop. I've been happy with the change ever since.

I stand by Magnaflow or Gibson Exhaust. Gibson is what is on my Blazer now while my Firebird has the Magnaflow. Both sound great and have given me no issues.

Depending where you live and how long you plan on keeping the vehicle you may want to look into the stainless option as well.

I have a dyno max because I didnt want it to loud. But if I didnt go with that I would have gone with magnaflow

I put in a flowmaster 40 and a down turned tip. It sounds nice out side the Blazer but isn't obnoxiously loud. I am thinking about going to a high flow cat to in the near future.

A high flow cat is a good choice, got one in mine that works great.

I put one of these JEGS systems on my '96 Cherokee(2.25" up to 2.5") last summer. Although they come with everything you need for installation I opted for SS band clamps. I'll be getting one for the wife's '96 Blazer before long.

Forgot to add (it was only my main point!) that I installed it by myself with no problems at all for those wanting to DIY. It's never needed tightening since I installed it.
