Default Thoughts about a 2.5 "Diameter Resonator?

This is what I'm talking about:
OBX Stainless Steel SUV Welded on Resonator Diameter 2 5" Length 18" | eBay

The Cat on my 2000 BlaZR2 is shot, and the exhaust is weak. I'm thinking of just cutting the pipe after the Y-pipe, adding new tubing, without adding a new Cat or muffler. My friend has one on his Miata, and likes them on his various cars, but does anyone have experience with these on SUVs? I'm looking for something louder than stock exhaust, but not the rattly glass pack sound. I'm thinking I buy this, some pipe, and find a shop to weld it all together for me. (I don't weld) Is this the best way to go for max airflow, good sound, and on the cheap?

I see about 60 people have looked at this, so I'm guessing people want to know about it. Is it just nobody has done this to their Blazer, or they don't like the idea, or what? I guess if nobody has done it, I could be a Guinea pig come this summer.

Perhaps one reason that nobody has answered is because, as stated in the Forum rules, we do not discuss removing catalytic converters or any part of the emission system.
