throttle blade mod

Just did it this morning after stumbling across this thread. 30 minute job, very easy. Definitely improves take off. My truck is overdue for a tune-up. Need cap, rotor, plugs, wires maybe. Will probably make even more of a difference when I ever get around to it.

I've learned sooooo much about my Jimmy on this forum. GREAT stuff!!!

Yeah mine too, going to be doing my plugs and wires here soon. Already did my cap and rotor.

did the blade mod today and went for a drive and the check engine light came on , got a P0507 - Idle Air Control System RPM Higher Than Expected.

Is it correctly seated back? There is a little hole on the top that lets air in while idling. So if your blade isnt seated back in the way it came out it could be letting in more air than it needs.

nope , i cleared the code and it hasnt come back , the throttle blade moves free in full travel.

Been 2 weeks and I have to say what a big difference I have noticed. It is more responsive on the throttle at any speed. Normally if I am driving on the freeway and need to go around someone I would have to push the pedal down pretty far and wait for the response to kick in. Now I just press it the slightest and I am sailing right around them. I have also noticed the tiny bit of hesitation is gone.
Definitely glad I cut the dam off.
