Does anybody know where I can buy a replacement direct fit Y Pipe
for a 1997 Chevy Blazer 4.3 L Vin W. 4 wheel drive
I had just purchased a direct fit Catalytic Converter, Muffler, and Tail pipe
from Walker Exhaust. I was surprised to find out they don't make a Y pipe
for a 1997. They make and sell one for a 1998-1999.
I am not sure if it would fit on a 1997. I called them and their only answer was
that they did not make one for a 1997. They make everything else for the exhaust
but not the Y-Pipe. I could probably find one in a salvage yard but I was hoping
I could put a new one on. I don't want to go the route of having one made $$$.
I strictly am looking for a direct fit Y-pipe.
I have not checked with GM. I am trying to save some money$$$.
Thanks for any help in pointing me in the correct direction.

There is no aftermarket or dealer(at least thats what they told me)replacement available. Ive searched and the only thing out there is the Edelbrock Header kit that comes with a y-pipe. There was one vendor selling a mandrel bent replacement, but I e-mailed him several times about one to see if it fits a 4x4, but he never replied.Heres a link to that site,>>>>>http://store.racing-solutions.org/s10blazer.html. Considering the price, I would just add the $100 and get the edelbrock kit.Other than that, your best shot is to either keep yours if its not damaged or hunt the junk yards for one. the 98+ y-pipes have the O2 sensors in the wrong place. You can have one custom made, but be ready to dish out some cash. A shop near me wanted $300 to make one, but the Edelbrock kit cost that much with the headers. They are different on a 1995 (what I own) and are the same for a 1996-97. I have an extra for a 1995, but that doesnt help you.

Thanks Volfan4,
I guess I will be going to the salvage yard hoping to find
something with a little bit of shine/life left in it. I was hoping
that this was not the reality, but I had not found anything either.
I guess my can of worms just got bigger. I will check out the
Edlebrock kit option but my pocket book is full of moths already.
Thanks -Mark

Thanks rriddle3,
I will keep that one in mind.
I also found this place.
http://www.gmpartsonline.net
A little pricey($175/w shipping) but at least it looks like they have it.
I looked up the GM part number.
15152628
This should be the y-pipe number for a 1997 Blazer 4 Dr 4 wheel Dr.
Thanks for everybody's help.
I'll probably go thru the salvage yards nearby first.
