Thumbs up 1996 IFS to Solid axle swap!!

Hey guys i just have a real simple question or two.

Im not entirely sure but if my stock IFS front axle is broken do you think it would be better/cheaper to do a solid axle swap?

If i decide to, what kind of front axles would suit this year best?

And how hard would it be to do? A home project or have a shop do it?

here is a kit that will give you an idea.

94-04 Chevy S10 solid axle conversion kit (leaf springs)

axles answer would require some research.

s10extremist.org

that should get you going...

i wonder how much time it takes with that kit. if its not your only vehicle and its something you want to do go for it. you have to figure plus the kit you need the springs, steering, axles and tires at the least.

it took me about 4 months working on it about 16hrs a week to complete mine, without the kit though
