2" body or 2" suspension lift?

But doesn't that then leave you with greater wear on ball joints and CVs? So do new control arms then come into play? And what about heavier duty CV boots I'd read about in one of these threads?

And, at what point are longer shocks necessary?

Also, with 2" lift, is it going to look ridiculous with stock wheels and winter rubber?

A body lift gives you the same frame clearance that you have now. personally I have a 2in suspension lift, I have had it for 4 years and only replaced 1 ball joint on a truck that has 104,000. As far as tires go, i had the orginal skins on them and yes it looked a little weird, but people knew that it was a raised truck, once i got 30's you really could not tell the difference, they looked like stock wheels. To me body lifts are not worth it, and i can tell when other truck have them on, by how the boddy is sitting on the tires, frame is expesed, and the rear axel is showing.
i would say do what you want with your rig, it is yours and yours only, this is just my opinion

I went with the tbar crank and shackles bc its cheap. so what if you have to replace balljoints every so often. It just the name of the game when it comes to lifting vehicles.

You can tell when you go with 30s
Consider the following:

stock

30x10.50s with 2' suspension lift

30s with 2' body lift and 2' suspension lift
Cliffnotes: 30s are sweet if you get a real tire, and you should get the body and the suspension lift

I heard that you should not combine body and suspension lifts. are you running BFG's? I had them then got mudders for my truck, but had to replace them so i decided to try the Sumitomo since i could not afford BFG's considering that i got a child on the way.

AT2s ftw
and what have you heard against body lifts with suspension lifts? The only downside is the higher center of gravity, but you should be aware of the altered handling characteristics with the modification of any part of the suspension or lift..
