Default anyone try to modify the RC upper control arm?

So, I'm planning on doing a lift and I want to do it the right way from the start. I was planning on getting the RC 2.5 but I see a lot of people are having problems with the upper ball joints. My question is: is it possible to modify the upper control arm to use bolt in ball joints? I just rebuilt my entire front suspension since the PO had never touched any parts. And I only used the best parts. I don't want to throw some ball joints on that are prone to fail when I have really expensive ones on right now that (hopefully) won't for some time.

I haven't actually seen the control arms in person so thought I would throw it out there for those that have the lift.
