I used a hydraulic jack and a 1.5' 2x4, positioned in front (side view) of the middle body mounts. Probably not the safest way, but didn't give me any problems.

Do the front and back bumper have to come off to pull off the install or can you get away with not taking it off?

From what I've read the kits have bumper relocation brackets to raise them the 2 inches so I would guess it would be easier to take the bumpers off

rear bumper, the corner pieces bind with the center section, I would recommend pulling the center section off. I dididn't, but mine is pretty rough, made it difficult for lifting the body.

don't have my bumper cover, but the bumper brace behind it didn't interfear with anything

mines an 01, u didnt mention year...
