Default Cannot remove the shackles

Hello,
i've started working on my lift kit: rough country 2.5"

i have a 2003 gmc jimmy, and i cannot remove the shackle on the driver side because the screws are blocked by the fuel tank

does anyone know how i can get them off?

Shackle bolts aren't a problem, (they're at the rear of the springs). On 4 door models, the fuel tank must be removed to remove the front eye bolt on the driver side though

I'm guessing he has a 2 door where the tank is in the rear

Loosen nut, then cut the bolt head off and slide it out... buy new hardware and install bolts from the opposite direction.

I would never drop a tank just for a leaf spring bolt.

Man this thread helped me out tons! I had the same problem with my 2 door. So I decided to wait till I researched it more. This hit the spot though. Thanks
