Did you look at that link? He said he found a 3" BL for $99 on ebay.
Granted it may not be the best but if you want low budget - that's the deal!
A steel pipe BL? Wtf is that backwoods BS? NEVER go there, sounds way too messed up... get the hockey pucks & add them for "cushioning" lol
Sorry man but if you don't/can't scrounge a C note to toss into a vehicle for personal upgrades/fun etc... don't bother & get your *** back in a civic or something like a mini van

i think what he is trying to tell you, is that backwoods tech is fine for driving backwoods...not on the streets.

also, sometimes it is better to save for the right way...doing it the wrong way and being cheap will bite you in the end.

Yeah you don't want to half *** anything that has to do with this. That will cost you more in the end as Jared (Warthog) said & has the potential to be really freaking dangerous. Buddy
It just seemed you were looking for the best cheap ***, bassackwards way to do things & I wanted to steer you away from it.
I've made that mistake too many times lol.
I made you read it a few times didn't I? lol
Probably sunk in too.
Hell I may look up that $100 3 " BL just for the rear bumper brackets if I can still use the class III hitch.
A reason they didn't have a 3" BL for a 2nd gen was the rear bumper brackets & that the rear bumper is intricate with the hitch plates that mount to the frame. Add 3" BL & the hitch becomes obsolete.
Take a look under the rear bumper if you have the class III hitch & see how it mounts to the frame along with the bumper brackets.

I have a lathe and could in theory turn some steel or aluminum body lift pucks. They would be stronger and I wouldn't be afraid to run them. Body lift pucks are fiber reinforced plastic so they don't give any cushioning, the body mounts do that before and after. By the time I was done the body lift would be worth more than a set of tires and not worth it.

Besides I got my body lift off ebay nib with a nib posilock kit from a guy that quit his project for $60.

When I get the body off my frame to start boxing it I'm gonna raise the mounts 1.5 inches. Gonna cut my nylon pucks in half and run those. Been toying with the idea of aluminum pucks but have you priced that stuff in 3 inch diameter round stock? Even with me dropping the lower edge of the core support (running a taller rad) and deleteing the front 2 pucks. 8 pucks (12 inches long) and seems most all have a min of 6 foot of something like that. Might just raise the mounts 3 inches, might just be ramblings of planning phase. Still hoping I can find a frame to toy with and get ready so my blazer will be down that much shorter time frame.
