lift on 33"s
I got some buckshot 33/12.5R16. im planning to throw them on soon. but i got some 3" blocks and planning to crank the T-bars for a little extra lift. will I have any trouble with it rubbing? this is my first 4wd so i hate to ask newbie questions. Thanks for any help in advance also this is a s10 blazer
Unless you're talking about another kind of block than I'm used to, those blocks will actually lower the rear since our axles are on top of the leaf spring. You could do a spring over axle conversion, but that would give you tons of lift in the back (5-6" IIRC) but no way to match it in the front without getting a Superlift, BDS, or similar lift kit.
Yea you can do that to lift the rear. Actually for the rear you can just reloacate the axle under the spring to get the 33s to fit. Its just that cluster of front end suspension parts that is a pain. Without spending like 1600$ or whatever on a lift kit the only option I see is a 3 inch body lift and some fender trimming
Yeah 3 inch body and trimming is about your only option. The lower the backspacing on the wheels, the more trimming you'll need.
Only way to get height in the front is either a store bought expensive kit like above, or do a Solid front axle swap. Which removes the torsion bar IFS suspension and makes it a leaf spring suspension like on the rear of the vehicle. You'd need a diffrent front axle along with alot of other parts and custom parts and time and labor.

Yep, I have Camaro rims with like 5.5 inch backspace and I rub frame and sway bar with another 0.5 or 0.75 turn left before lock. If they were only 7 inch wide It'd be a lil better but with 8 inch wide it rubs pretty good. I've run them since late Jan/early feb and I have a pretty shiney spot on the frame and sway bar on each side.
Factory is 6 inch backspace and most off road wheels seem to be 4 inch and smaller.
