Default lifting the front

ok so i dont own a blazer yet i really like the one im looking at, i obviously want it lifted, i love offroading and i want at least 33s under it, i have been reading some of these threads and i kinda notice that it doesnt seem that cheap/easy to lift the front of a car with torsion bars i mean you can get a little lift by cranking them but i want like a 3 inch lift at least, i kinda was hoping to get at least 2 inches from a suspension lift, does anyone have any ideas at all on lifting the front with a different methode than the torsion bars, i love fabricating so if there is something i could fab up to use let me know, the cheapest 2 in lift i could find was 700+ and that kinda gets me down since i lifted my last jeep for around 400.

there aren't much options when it comes to suspension lifts with s10's. you either to a tbar crank and shackle lift, body lift, or the 5" trailmaster or the 6" superlift. If you like fabricating I guess you could look at the trailmaster and the superlift and see if you can make your own components similar to their design. The only practical off road blazer is the zr2. You can get 33" tires under those if you do a tbar crank and a body lift. If you are an off road enthusiast however I would suggest at looking some more "popular" off road vehicles. Toyota and Jeep are the biggies, you'll end up dropping a lot less money on one of those than if you get a blazer and want to do the same thing. We all have to face it that blazers weren't meant to be hardcore off road machines even the zr2's..

To fit 33,s your probably going to need more than 3 inches lift. The cheapest method to lift these trucks is a torsion lift and shackles. Add a 2in body lift and you can get close to 4 inches, but even then it will probaly take some fender cutting, and new rims to clear 33s. You may be able to squeeze some 33x10.5 in there, but would still take some trimming most likely. If you dont mind fabbing you could try a 3inch BL for a first gen, and make your own bumper brackets and lower fan shroud drop brackets. Add the torsion lift and shackles and that would be about 5in lift.
if your looking for a vehicle to lift for cheap keep looking, if you like making your own stuff and enjoy a challenge then the blazer is for you. Good luck

you can fit 32" tires with a tbar crank and a 2" body lift with some trimming

the only way to fit 33s without a lot of fender cutting would be a 5 or 6in lift with a body lift. Thats if you plan on taking it off road which it sounds like you will be. My 33x12.50 rub on the trails and I have a total of 9in of lift

If you like fabricating, try a solid axle swap =)

4x4 blazers don't have coil springs
