i know, but either replacing the shocks with coil overs or just adding coil overs somewhere else could work to relieve tension off the torsion bar, and increase ride hight

SFA! SFA! kiddin. Really though if you fab and don't mind the time and getting the right parts, and you either are or know a DAMN good welder. SFA is your best bet. I figure people have done coils on a blazer but it is more complicated and most just go with leafs.

You could always go with the tbar crank, shackles, and body lift. Factory 15x7 4x4 rims and some 33x10.50 or 9.50 interco tires. But that wouldn't do very good if it's your daily driver on pavement. Plus some people don't like the skinny tire look, lol.

Oh and using coil overs to relieve pressure on the torsion bars, if possible would make for a very harsh ride I'd say. Might effect flex ability also. If $$$ is no option, there is a airbag that mounts up like a shock. It's expensive and you would have to run air lines and mount a compressor. But you could remove the bars completly and just run the bags. But your alignment and such might be comprimised depending on how that system works. Plus the raising and lowering would probley kill your cv axles.

To some up the rant; ditto what everyone else has said . SFA or body lift and 5-6 inch suspension for 33's. And I agree that jeeps out of the factory are more capable off roaders than blazers, also easier to modify. But everyone runs them, the blazer stands out more IMHO. (Like a rock! ) lol

i like the air bag kinda but why couldnt you just do the same idea but with coils haha, idk i like the look of the blazer like you said it stands out and honestly just looks really badass when its lifted like a mudder, and the i was readin up on the lifts and i got pissed that there was only like a 2 inch lift for the front unless you wana drop 2thousand or more on extreme mods , so i was thinkin the way the suspension is set up if you could either replace the torsion bars with coils or just use coil over shocks you could either relieve tension on the bar or just remove it completely

I am actually putting Coil Overs on my Blazer. It is called a ZUK MOD. I am going to document it all and put it up.

SFA are way to expensive! So intern ZUK MOD is better, some spare steel pieces and $80 woth of coils gets you a 2" lift

There are not a whole lot of choices as already indicated by this thread. You basically have

-Add a leaf and a tbar crank
-shackles and a tbar crank
-body lift
-suspension lift
-Zuk Mod (Coilovers) and a tbar crank

Since Jeeps and Toyotas have such a diverse and long history they have loads more options. One in particular that my friend and I are looking into is the ball joint spacer.

There are a few toyota goers that manufacture these for pretty cheap and they give about a 2" lift to the front. (we just installed some on his 87 4runner) He only paid $100. If we could figure out how to bring that to Blazers we would be able to help out a lot of people!
