Lifting Options
hey everyone, i have a 99 2 door blazer with 30,000 actual miles on everything that i bought from my grandma. i have my deck and subs and a flowmaster exhaust, aftermarket tail lights, a good real cold air intake with heat shield, and im not done but theres not alot of options with lifting and thats my next project. i heard torsion bar cranks are bad and wana stay away from them. and casnt find no lifts without them unless there 5-6 inch lifts and i dont wana mess with the axle angles and crap. i think my only choice is a 2-3 inch body lift. all i want is 31's that arent super knobby. can someone help please. and im by far not car dumb just never got into lifts.
to fit 31s you will need a 2in bodylift along with either shackles or an add-a-leaf in the back. You will also have to crank the tbars slightly. There is nothing wrong with cranking the tbars as long as you dont go more than 1.5in Higher than that is when you have problems. A lot of people say cranking the tbars is bad but that usually comes from the guys that went higher than 1.5in and had problems. If you stay under that you will be fine. Mine has been fine for the last 2 years. Thats what you will need unless you dont plan on taking it offroad. If you plan on using it strictly for onroad use then a bodylift might be all you need.
i plan on going off road but i usually just go two tracking and stuff. nothing like what ur doing in your pics. i dont even have that terrain around me. so just some two trackin and not to extreme mudding. and i kinda think if i had the body lift and not to knobby of tires, like land terrains then it mite be ok cause i seen a bone stock 4-door that had 31s that were like half way wore down and didnt touch anything at full turn cause i drove it into the repair garage and checked that crap out. so i dont know i just want some more height and tire but not ready to go where u did, even though thats really what would make me happiest if it looked like urs.
