Default New guy in Oregon, couple questions about SAS.

So, I have owned my Blazer for about 4 years now and.she is my baby. 2002 4 door 4x4 LS, 118k. I really want too get into the offroading scene and as far as that goes I am extremely new. I am pretty mechanically inclined and am not at all afraid to get dirty. I am really interested in doing a solid axle swap; however I am not sure what all that entails. What should I pull my new axle(s) from? Do I need to swap both the front and rear? What about the t-case? How will this affect the drivability/legality of the rig?
How difficult is it really? And what all will Ineed to do this?

I know these are very noobish questions but I really love my truck and want to do it right the first time.
