New Guy from North Central Oregon
Hey guys I am a new Blazer owner, (first Chevy I have owned) I just bought a 99 zr2 100% stock, in great shape, with 125,000 miles, i picked it up for 2500$. Is that a good deal for these trucks? And is there anything I should be worried about with it, or some preventative maintenance I need to do?
I already plan on doing a full coolant flush and a new thermostat, I have no idea when they were done last.
I also have to do the door hinge pins, besides that though this truck is in great shape. I am new to these blazer's though and just want to see if there is anything that I need to be worried about or keep an eye on.
I will try to get a picture posted up in the next couple of days, Thanks for any input here

not a bad price if nothing has to be done right away in the line of repairs is concerned. Good things to look at:
1. are the cooling parts such as the condition of the radiator and hoses, play in the fan clutch if applicable.
2. Take off the serpentine belt check for noise on pulleys and spin them by hand get a feel on bearing condition. Look for wear on the belt.
3. Check for oil leaks on motor and trans....first couple of weeks keep a steady eye on your fluids, to see how much loss there is, if any
4. Pull out one or two of your spark plugs just to see the condition there in. If all else checks out well with the rest of the list it maybe a maintenance job to look into.
5. Jack up each wheel to feel play in the wheels. In the front checking for bearings, ball joints, tie rods, bushings. Look at brakes to see how low they are.
6. Look at the condition of your metal brake lines more so the one that runs to the rear, It's quite common they rust out and pop... not good if on road.
So those are your basic checks, this will get you acquainted with your new to you truck and see what the overall condition of the vehicle is.

thanks for all the reply's, I just did a coolant flush on it last night and may have some coolant disappearing somewhere, I don't see any leaks but am going to watch it closely over the next few days. This truck was very well taken care of though, and all service and maintenance done at a reputable shop.
cubawashere thanks for the list of stuff to check out, I will start going over all of that stuff and make it is all in good shape.
Any body else from my area on here?
