Um your wrong on that one sorry. I have shackles with stock shocks as do many many many others without issue. What is it that is causing issue for you with the stock shocks?

 

My stock ones worked also but I upgraded to longer ones anyway

 

My shocks were bottomed out when I went to put the new shackles on. I still needed another 2-3" of shock to get the shackle on

 

I see what you mean now Steve after looking at it. Thanks for explaining that. Does anyone know, what's the difference between a ZR2 and Blazers/Jimmys? An extra leaf, taller springs, & heavier torsion bars? Is there a difference in A-Arms for ball joint angles? If someone was parting out a ZR2 would it be a direct swap on the suspension parts?

 

I know for a fact the ZR2s have a wider rear axle. and I know that its "factory lifted" because the fatory tire size for zr2s is 31x10.50x15. Some other members can problychime in as to how it is lifted. yes almost all parts are direct swap. (2door to 2 door 4 door to 4 door) for stuff like hoses and lines.

 

The actual suspension parts are almost all exactly the same between the ZR2 and regular Blazers/Jimmys. The "lift" is all in the frame mounting points for the suspension components. In the front the control arms are mounted lower on the frame, and have a build-out to make it wider. The ZR2's use longer CV axles because of the extra width. In the rear the front spring mount is several inches larger/lower than on the regular Blazers, giving the lift there. I'm pretty sure that the rear leaf springs are not interchangeable as the lower front mount changes where the centering bolt needs to sit and it's just different enough that you can't swap them. If I remember correctly if you try to use ZR2 leaf springs on a non-ZR2 it moves the axle forward an inch or so.
