Default SAS Question

I am interested in doing an SAS but I have a question about which axles to pick. I have done my reading and am pretty sure that I should go with Dana 44s at the minimum but which side do I want the differential on? I can't seem to find a definitive answer for this. I have my eye on a set of Dana 44s for 200 bucks with the differential on the passenger side. Would these work?

You want a drivers side drop sorry! Passenger side can be made to work but it involves swapping in a different transfer case with PSD.

Do you ever have anything productive to add? The tcase is not garbage and plenty of people run the h*** outta them and never have any issue what so ever!

Another ruined thread thanks to chesty!!! I have been a part of several of them just for your knowledge and I have read more build threads than you can even count to about them so I would say I have a bit of knowledge about them.
Post #9 is a good example of your lack of knowledge regarding an SAS swap and your solution of creating way more work and ending up with the same thing needing to happen to make it work!

Great. I'll keep an eye out for a driver side differential. I might have to go with a d30 just because of availability though. How much weaker are they really and is there any way I can strengthen them up?

What are your plans for it? Wheeling style and terrain, tire size, future motor swap and such?

A 205 and dana 60 are overkill for the average Blazer and makes a SAS far more complicated than it needs to be. The NP23x transfer case is well suited for the application as well as having a better low range than the 205.

There are a lot of threads on BF that give ideas what are good axles to use, and peoples experiences with them.
