Default Shocks 96 blazer

I put shackles on my blazer and I added a leaf spring because the main one was bowing back. So the other day I noticed it swaying in the rear and I got home my shock over extended and snapped. If I'm not mistaken the stock shock is 24" fully extended will a 26.75" be long enough.
