I don't know if this is a common problem or not, but I installed the Rough Country 2" lift and the new upper C/A's did not last long. The bolt holes rounded out and now nearly all of my brand new front suspension components are worthless... Has anyone else heard of or had this problem? I am thinking if I dont go higher I will have the local fabricating shop either repair them or make stronger copies. Any help would be appreciated.

2" shackles and 2" body lift doesnt require you to drop your transfer case. The only time the transfer case gets lowered is when you do an actual 5" or 6" suspension lift.

Note: I edited my post on the first page. Added some additional info as well.

I was thinking about puting a 5" trailmaster lift in my jimmy and Putting on some 33's. Would 2" wheel spacers help with rubbing? Thancks alot you guys are a BIG help.

this moves the outside edge of the tire out (like a wider tire), thus making it come in contact with the outside lower corner of the fender, instead of going inside the wheel well.
i'm not sure if a 5" lift will be enough for 33's though. Dave up there (nj4x4blaze) has 6" SL & 2"BL on his truck with 33's, i'm sure he didn't just add a BL for fun though.

I am no expert by far but i did have 31in kumhos on stock rims on my 96 jimmy all I had to do was crank the torsion bars the only rubbing I got was when the wheel was totally turned left or right back was fine.

Hey guys im new to this whole lifting scene, always had sporty cars instead, anyways i have a 97 2 dr blazer lt and i wanna lift it but dont wanna spend too much money. ive read about the body lifts and torsion bars and so on...so if i have read everything right does it man if i do a 2 RC body lift and some rear shackles and crank the torsion bars am i lookint at around 4" lift total? i have 30 tires as of new on the stock height. Also how hard is it to do the torsion crank? im not a total newbie with cars but im also not a mechanic but can do alot. Also do i need to get an alignment if i do the torsion bars? any suggestions would be great. Also i was thinking about maybe swaping out my factory rims for a set of older 80-90 camaro rallys.. anyone have any problems with the offset since those are for a 2wd and mines a 4wd?

sooooo many questions there Reizvoll.
ok, you already have 30" tall tires, is that correct? (wasn't really sure about that in your post there)
with 30's you don't even need to do any lift-provided you don't suffer from "Blazer saggy butt syndrome". if you do the t-bar/shackles with a 2" BL, you'll clear 31's easily, maybe 32's-but i'd check with Dave (nj4x4blaze) about that first. and it seems like a given in the previous discussions that you don't wanna max out the t-bars @ 2 inches, only go about 1.5 inches.
anytime you do any front end work, you should get an alignment done.
now if you're going to have 2WD rims-which is what those Camaro rims essentially are- you're definately gonna need to put some sort of lift on your truck, 'cause the wheels are now gonna stick out farther, and therefore, they're gonna come in contact with the bottom edges of the fenders now. think of it like adding a wider tire to your truck.
funny......you've been a member since Sept/08, and this is your first post. one of those silent guys in the corner i guess. (gotta watch out for those ones
