Default tbar crank and shackles

i'm sure the answer is out there somewhere but rather that searching through countles threads, i'll just ask. has anyone had any serious troubles with wear and tear cranking the Tbar up an inch or so. if so what would they be. i've also read on here that people who have bought the RC 2" lift have had probs with steer parts and cv shafts. doesnt anyone make a drop pitman arm to correct the angles?

its been said numerous times that 1.5-2" is perfectly fine. and personally i think the RC lift is a waste of money, just crank ur tbars and do the shackles or go with a bodylift. you can also combine the body lift with the tbar/shackle to get close to 4" of lift.

As far as problems with the 2" RC lift... I have had my fare share of problems. Check out a thread that I started called 2" suspension lift gremlins for more on that.

I cranked my tbars about an inch just to level the truck out. Soon after, the boots came loose due to the (slightly) increased angle and spewed grease out. I haven't needed to use 4WD since then but I fear that driving without much grease has (or will) cause problems.

I'm planning on cranking the tbars more and doing a body lift but not until I've replaced the CV halfshafts and balljoints.

also if you get 31's, assuming you have stock 28's, you will have around 5.5" of lift.

thanks for the input guys. i'm looking to put 31x10.5-15 bfg at's on it. but i might go with the 30x9.5-15. just need a lil lift to give it that extra clearance. at around 200k miles i might go extreme off-road with it. but thats 100k off so...

You can run 31"s with a t-bar crank and a 2" body lift using the stock rims. Send Pics!

yeah i've been debating a body lift. they seem easy enough. for now i'll just do the shackles and t-bar crank and see what troubles i can get into. where did u find the 15x8's with 5 in. backspace

They are "Unique" wheels by Carlisle. I had to special order them through Discount Tire. They cost me $73 each and it took about three weeks to get them. If I could do it again (and I probably will) I would go with a 4.5" or 4" backspacing in order to move the wheels out a little more.

you could always go with a small spacer to get a wider track.
