Default Tortion Bar?

Looking at lifting my truck (2000 second gen) and im going to use a superlift 2" kit but my question is the driver side tortion adjust bolt is out about the 1 inch and the passenger side is all the way in?? should it be or should i think about changing the tortion bars at the same time. Oh yeah the truck rides like a tank the way it is setup now? would new better tortion bars help that?

Thanks

If the truck is relatively level side to side and the adjustment screws are that far off, then you may run into problems trying to lift it. It would be a good idea to replace the bars if you can afford to and it shouldn't add much work to the installation of the Superlift. You have to partially remove the bars in order to install the new keys anyway.

Torsion bars can be expensive though. New ones are pretty pricey but I've seen some good deals on used bars. Look for a newer truck or a ZR2 if you decide to buy used ones.

I did a search on Car-part.com using eastpointe as the location, and a place called Ernie's Auto Parts has a set of ZR2 bars. It says to call to get a price. Looking at the other results shows a place in Flint with them for 50 bucks a piece.

Replacing that t-bar should help out a lot with ride quality. Removing and installing a t-bar is a bit of a PITA!-IMO Have you thought about a 2" body lift instead of the 2" Superlift kit. I mean you can't properly install the lift until you replace that t-bar anyways. The frame will show more with a body lift, but it's a whole lot cheaper ($200) and gets the job done!!! - Not to mention a body lift won't cause your front end suspension components to wear out faster.

Anyways, good luck with the build man!!!! You planning to get some 31's to go with that lift?
