I spent a good $600 when it was all said and done and I don't even have a body lift.. and I got my tires used

 

the main problem that i've found with runnung 33" and bigger tires is the driver's side motor mount ... and it SUUUUUCKS alot to change !!! i've seen me do it twice !!other than that , change the gears fr. and rr. , it'll be a pig if you don't .. but with the lift , wheels & tires and gears , my truck has absolutely no problems with power .... one day i'll post some pics of it at the dragstrip doin' the big 'ol smokey burnout on some 33" super swampers

 

McGrew Tire shop in Charleston, West Virginia. My tires there were $120 with mount and balance each. They had the recently discontinued but really popular Cavilier Mud King MT's in 35x12.50x15 for $176 a tire with mount and balance. So about $710 for Band New, beastly lookin' Mud Terrains (And that's not in stock, shipping from B.F.E.).

So $600 for decent used should'nt be a problem. But I see your point, alot of people pay $1000 and up for 35's! I ran into a thread somewhere with a Tundra owner showing his new 37 inch tires on 18 inch rims, and the tires cost almost $2000! Must be nice... Not the Toyota, the whole huge lift and tires and having money thing.

sorry to burst your bubble bro but I know for a fact that a 1st gen and sec gen lift are pretty much the same. The only difference is the way they drop the rear of the torsion bars. If you dont believe me check out the part numbers and istall directions in each lift on the trailmaster site.

 

ok my plans for my 95 blazer 4x4 4 door is a 5" suerlift lift, a 2" PA body lift, a jet performance six pack tuner, and cragar soft 8 rims. i dont know what tires to run tho. what gears would i have to get to make it not a "pig"?

and its either i dump 3500 in my blazer or i buy a 91 pathfinder on a chevy chassis with dana 44's a 454, th350, and 205 transfercase, with 44" swampers for 3500

 

it seems like the pathfinder would be a better deal. then you could keep your blazer as a dd and maybe an offroad vehicle sometimes when ur just driving around and have the itch to do some 4 wheeling

 

im 17 and my parents think that the pathfinder is a waste of money and that i should put it into my blazer. so what do u think of my plan for the blazer

 

well in my opinion 7 inches of lift is too much for an s10 blazer. i think if you went with the 2 in body lift and the tbar crank and shackles would be better. I mean really when you think about it with what you want your spending a whole lot of money for 3 inches and you can't really fit much bigger than a 33" tire. with the the body lift and 3 bar crank you can fit 32's with some trimming which is only 1 tire size smaller than what you want. I think if u do that you'll have a lot of extra money to spend it on something else on your blazer such as a stereo, maybe some new parts to things that are wearing out, cold air intake, lighting accessories ect.. I just think a those 5 and 6 inch lift kits aren't worth all the money and hassle. 4 inches of lift for roughly $300-$400 is much better than 7-8inch of lift for probably $2000.

 

I agree with benedict. You're looking at a pretty hefty price tag and also a hell of a lot of work once you get into a super lift like a 6" suspension lift. Go with 4-5" of lift via body lifts and shackles and you'll be set. That will cost you well under $500 and then you can spend all of that extra cash on stuff like brush guards and lights to accessorize and make your truck even more bad ***. If you dump all your money into your lift and tires, then all you have is a lift in tires on a stock looking Blazer.

 

I would say once u are all said and done with the 6" lift and body lift you'll be into $2000. you said you wanted to buy new rims too craigers aren't that expensive but thats another $200. 33" tires your probably gonna be paying about $150 a tire at the cheapest so theres another $600. plus most tire places charge u out the butt for mounting tire sizes that aren't stock so thats probably another $100. for the lift wheels and tires alone you are looking at almost your price limit. wouldn't it be nice to have more than just a lift and tires? since u said your 17 that'll be you dd too. 33's will get you horrible gas millage and it'll handle like a rock. imo I like my stereo more than my lift and tires. I mean everyone uses their stereo why not have one that sounds good
