not sure if summit sells them. I know 4 wheel parts does and yea these are vehicle specific not sure if bravadas have the same differential as blazers they probably are. The cheapest locker you can get is a lock rite and its like $400. but everyone I have talked to says they aren't that great for on road handling. The same company that makes the lock rite makes a limited slip differential that it much better on road handling and is $100 more. I'm not 100% sure on how to decide the differential size and gearing. I'm pretty sure the gearing in blazers is 3.73. I'm sure a call to the local dealership could give you more information about the size and gearing of your differential

Blazers were available with 3.73 and 3.42 (I have 3.42 and sometimes wish it was 3.73, hauling my ATV would be easier)... Call a dealership with your VIN number and they can tell you EVERYTHING you want to know... The lock rite will only really affect you with low speed turns, like in parking lots and stuff. You'll also need to get the "size" of rear dif that you have because I can't remember off hand what it is.

With the body lift and your torsion crank, that's almost 4 inches of lift, you should be able to fit the 31's with very minor rubbing... before purchasing a tire, make sure the overall diameter is what you want, alot of times a manufacturer's 31" tire is closer to 30"...

And welcome to the forum lol.

Thanks. This site is great. So many perspectives on everything. Unfortunately i do not have the money to buy a rear locker. Im not doing too much serious trail running or anything. Somebody once told me the differential and the awd smartrac vs the 4wd is the only real difference between blazers and bravadas. Not sure if this is the case. Just what ive been told.

I think the smart trac is similar to my 4wd auto on my blazer. it works ok but I much rather use the 4 hi off roading the auto tends to lag when the back wheels are slipping. you got any pics of your bravada? Don't think I've ever seen one with roof lights

Even with the body lift you will still rub with 31's on ~4" backspaced rims. I have a set on my truck right now with some bald Goodyears on them and I had to trim a couple inches out of the bottom of the front fenders so it wouldn't rub...when I throw my BFG's on the new rims I may have to trim more. You wouldn't really notice I trimmed the fenders unless I pointed it out so it isn't the end of the world but just so you know they will rub without trimming.

instead of buying a new locking diffrential, try looking for a good used rear ZR-2 axle. they come stock with a good limited slip diffrential. you might be saving some money if you find one in a junk yard or on craigslist.
also in regards to your tires, i just recently bought a set of 31" bfg mud terrian KM2s. they are absolutely amazing, very aggressive look and work great. i sunk the front of my blaZeR2 yesterday and they just went throught the mud like it wasnt there.

If you get a ZR2 axle, you need the front diff as well so the gears out back and up front match. You'd probably be safer getting true 30" tires on the 4.5" backspace rims, that way you won't need to trim.

a zr2 axle would cost about the same as a brand new locker. I'd much rather buy a new locking diff than buy a used g80 axle. They tend to stop working after they get old
