does the locker really make that much of a difference off road? or is it not worth the cost?

depends what you do. If you try and go through deep mud, are climbing steep hills, ect. it gives you a lot better traction

A locker in the rearend would make a huge difference offroad. Also doubles your chances of breaking something if you don't understand sometimes you just need to be pulled out though. I may install a minispool in my rig this summer, cheapest way to go without welding the spider gears and it doesn't see any mall parking lots anyhow.

You would want a locker that opens up when you let off the gas then... www.synergyoffroad.com sells them for just under $400 I do believe, and he is a great guy to deal with.

if you need to know your gear ratio look in the jocky box for the codes list the blazer had like 5 different axles they but in. the v6 usally had the 3.42 or the 3.73. the 4 cyl engines ran a 4.11 sometimes. I have a 96 blazer 4wd has the 3.42 and they work perfectly. has good acceleration but still rolls down the road at 65 at some lower rpms and it will pull as good as a fullsize truck will. I have pulled a few vehicles on trailers before with it and you would never know that it had a trailer on it. one was a old car for an ex girlfreind the other was my dads 85 dodge ramcharger. both times pulled like nothing but if I remeber right the 3.42 is a gu6 and the 3.73 is a gt4 or something like that
