The more the tire sticks out the more likely it is to get into a fender or bumper which means you will increase your possibility of needing to trim.

I would say sell those tires and use the money to get a set that will actually fit without having to do a crazy amount of trimming.

For what it's worth, I run 265/70/17's on my 4-door Blazer with a 2" body lift and 1.5" suspension. I had to trim a lot off the back of the front fender. I almost never touched the fender other then on an extremely hard bump when turning, but I could just touch the frame with the rear of the tire when turning and a small bump. The 265/70/17 I run is about 31.5" tall, and almost 11" wide.

I run 31x10.5 with a decent amount of off set, I had to trim up front and still slightly rub off road.
this is with shackles, torsion bar adjustment and 2 inch body lift. I will have no issues once i install the RC 2.5 inch kit.
