some of my gauges and lights are not working when the key is in the run position. the shift position and odometer show up when i click the ignition forward to the first position. as soon as i rotate it forward to run and/or start they go out.

working gauges while running:
oil pressure
rpms
speedometer
battery voltage

not:
temp
shift light
odometer
fuel
brights (work but dont show on dash)
cruise control

i have torn down the dash and put dilectric grease on the connector with no change.

dont know if this has anything to do with it but my fuel gauge has dropped to empty after i get to 1/8 tank since i got it about a year ago.

 

I was about to ask about the exact same issue in mine. I have an '01. If you find out what it is, I'd love to know.

 

i want to open the plastic on the column to check the ignition switch but i was told it would activate the security system and it would not start. any truth to this?

 

after hours of research i found an old post about the cruise control fuse. (#3) was bad replaced and fixed my problem... time to put the dash back together lol
