Hopefully this is the right area to post... First time posting here.
So I want to install HID's on my 97 blazer, my question is this. My headlights have two different bulbs, one for low beam and the other for the hi. Do I need to buy two different kits to have hi/low beams? I have installed HID's on my 2006 Limited Edition R6 but one headlight is on for low and then the other side comes on to make a "HIGH" beam. Any help would be great.
Also Is there a way to turn off my day time running lights?

Yes, there is a simple way to turn off the day time running lights. You have to bend one side of the fuse pin #86 that controls the DRLs (located on the driver side of the engine in the fuse box). Also, you will want to get a 1k ohm resistor and wire it into the light sensor located on the dash passenger side speaker cover. This will turn off the automatic night lights, so the ballasts will work correctly. You will need two kits, one 9006 for low and one 9005 for high beams, but you don't need high beam HIDs, unless you really want them.

Well I want the low beams to be a little dimmer than the high beams. I know that HID low beams are already bright as the sun, as I have hids on my motorcycle 3000k yellow. One bulb for low and both on for high and they are crazy bright! But in the blazer if someone High beams me I want to be able to get them with even brighter beams on the high beams. I'm not sure what kelvin colors to use for hi/low beams though.

1997 blazers don't have a light sensor for automatic night lights that was put in the newer models they only have DRLs and as far as a fuse box located on the driver side of the engine, there is no fuse box under the hood the only one is on the driver side of the dash

The DRL relay is located under the center of the dash in the relay center. The DRL Module is located between the HVAC controls & the glove box up under the dash.

There are a few ways to defeat the DRLs in your truck.
  1. Disconnect or bend the pin associated with the switching side of the relay (either the pink or lite green w/ black tracer wires at the relay.
  2. Remove the relay and place a jumper wire from the black wire to the dark blue wire.
  3. Locate the DRL Module & pull the lite green w/ black tracer wire(s) from terminal G in the plug and tape them up.
Options 1 & 2 will disable the hi beams from coming on in reduced power mode, but will leave the DRL indicator light on the dash. Option 3 will fully defeat the system.

the only thing with putting on HID kit on 96-02 Blazer/Jimmy is the spectrum scatter..this is due to the reflector and how well you project your HID beam from other drivers and keep from blinding them. It is best to stick with the legal D.O.T. specs on fogs 3K no more than 6k and Hi and low beams 6-8k you may get away with 10K but have to look at your local legal laws on that. There are youtube sites that shows you how to lower the "scatter" and focus the HID beam. Everyone hates a car or truck that is on coming and you cant see and get temp blindness..

Having a 96 Blazer myself, the way i disconnected my DRL's was simply pulled the fuse and no more DRL's.

As for the HIDS, I have 6k HIDS for the low beams and stock bulbs for the high beams since i simply just dont need them. I was thinking about doing the quad beam mod and putting another pair of 6k in the highbeams so it makes it that much brighter. I'm also going to get the fog lights for it as well and put HID's in them.

But in other words, your fuse pannel on your drivers side in-between your door and dash board there should be a little door. pop that off and look at the diagram it should say DRL for a seperate fuse. Like mine, you should be able to just pull the fuse and the DRL's never come back on.
