Default 1998 Flasher Sound wo turn signals engaged.

I have a 1998 Blazer LT 4WD 4DR. On Tuesday, I started hearing what sounds like the flasher working but I do NOT have the 4 ways on and NOT using the left or right turn signal. The 4 ways and the turn signals do work when engaged.

This starts right after I start the truck. I have never owned a vehicle that this has happened before to. It just sounds like the turn signal is consistantly on even though it is not. It stops once I turn the truck off.

I do not have a lot of experience with vehicles and looking to see if anyone knows what this might be or if i should just change the flasher. That is if this truck actually has a flasher installed.

Thanks

This is typically caused by a problem in the multifunction switch. Try messing around with the hazard switch to see if it changes the symptoms. If it does, you may be able to get away with only replacing the hazard switch portion of the multifunction switch. If it doesn't, then you may need to replace the whole thing, but further testing can be performed from there.

There are tech articles on both the replacement of the hazard switch as well as the full replacement of the multifunction switch.

Well I hope it is not that.

How do I test?
Where are these guides located at?
