Default 1998 Power Seat Stopped Working

I have a 1998 Blazer SLT 4 door 4x4. The drivers power seat has stopped working. The part that is bad about this is that it stopped in the too far forward position. Now it will not move back because of the power part not working.

I looked for a fuse in the fuse panel but did not see one. I also tried to look under the seat for one but was unable to locate.

Please advise to what may be causing the drivers power seat to not function.

Thanks in advance.

A common problem with the seats is that the wires run under the carpet and get corroded from wet feet and in colder climates salt. Sometimes you can yank on the wires at the back of the seat and get them to work. The fix is to cut the carpet and replace some of the wire.

Thanks for that information. Is there anyway to test the motors and see if they have gone bad?
anyway to adjust manually?
Where does the wires run to?
any chance that it may have blown a fuse?
Any place to get a wiring diagram of the power seat wires?
Difficulty of changing?

I just ran my own power wire to it to get temporary power to move it.

I just traded for a 98 and the power seat isnt working either, You can here it click under the seat when you hit the button to recline the seat but the seatback wont move at all.
All other function work with the seat except the one i really need.

So I took the seat motor completely apart. Cleaned and but new grease in some of the areas that had grease in them. Tested motors to make sure still worked with direct power. They did work. Put it all back together and got lucky that all the switches actually work and move the seat.

Hopefully this may help someone get lucky like I did.

So the seat has stopped working again. I just purchased a new seat, that I saw work, out of another blazer (99 LT).

I have placed the seat in my blazer and the power seat does not work. What could the problem be? Any chance it could be the PWR ACCY circut breaker is bad?
