Default 2000 GMC Jimmy Third Brake Light

Hey guys,

I am dealing with a headache right now. I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy Diamond Edition and it has a completely different third brake light. This light mounts on the hatch glass with a spoiler surrounding it. I got it all off and searched for the light housing and it appears that part has been discontinued. Part Number GM-15024624. Can not find any used lights for sale. Anyone have any thoughts on what to do? Thinking that I might have to drill new holes and mount a true high mount third brake light...But not sure how hard that would be..

Thanks,

Justen

Your best bet is to do something like what I did.

I took it off a envoy(same as yours), and installed on my blazer.

Cut it open, and install led strips, then seal it back up. The biggest pain you'll have, is the clips holding it to the glass. Everything is easy.

Do a search in here for envoy third light, or go through my threads and you'll find it...

Did you have to do anything for the LED lights wiring? I thought they needed a block that lowers the power?

But thank you! I will check out your threads

I used the stock plug, no block... but can look at the thread and see if it'll work for you.

It's not like the LED bulbs I don't think. So far non-issues, just not as bright as I'd like...
