Hey guys, I'm having quite a few electrical issues with my Blazer and feeling a little overwhelmed about where to even start as I'm quite the novice. First off here is everything that is going on:
#3 Fuse blows constantly and I lose dash lights and tail lights (brake lights, hazards, turn signals all work just no running lights) Usually blows as soon as I put a new one in, other times it will be fine for a day or two then will blow when I hit a bump or roll down my window.
Radio reception cuts out a lot and then won't work for an extended period of time.
Rear Hatch Release button doesn't work and hatch will unlock on it's own, sometimes when doors are unlocked or I shift gears.
Ok, now I have a trailer brake controller that was installed by the previous owner and I think this might be at least partially to blame for some of this. The red wire coming out of the controller is disconnected. I believe it is supposed to be connected to the brake light switch, but I can't for the life of me figure out where. It's very tight quarters and impossible to see anything. I'm really hoping there is a solution that doesn't involve ripping the dash apart. Is it possible that the brake controller is causing these issues? If so, can I just rip it out?
