Default 97 Blazer headlight issues

Been having problem with headlights not coming on. If i tap the light switch, they will come on. Bought new switch and am waiting for upgraded wiring from LMC to come in that takes the load off the switch and powers the lights directly from the battery thru relays. I notice that when I turn on high beams, low beams go off. Painless wiring list a wiring kit for 9005 and 9006 bulbs that keeps lows on with highs. Would this be worth the $33.00? Would I really notice a difference?

Also, notice there is a light on the right side of dash by fuel gage that looks a little like high beam indicator but with "light rays" aimed down that flashes from time to time. When it flashes I hear a clicking under the dash. If I wiggle the headlight switch, I can get it to flash. Is this a fog light indicator? Mine doesn't have fog lights

Replaced headlight switch. Install new bulbs and LMC wiring kit.

Went together good. Had to by a different battery bolt that had a stud on the back to connect wiring to.

Switch doesn't get hot, no more dash lights flashing.
