Default 97 Jimmy/Blazer 4WD Fuse(#15) Blowing when trying to engage

NOTICE: I have searched and done research so please don't tell me to do a search.

Hi everyone, I bought a 1997 GMC Jimmy Three days ago, Everything worked great other than only 2 speakers working. My husband and I go out to the mudhole(4WD worked multiples times on flat pavement for testing) and I drop in in N and tryed to put it in 4HI, Button just blinked and went back to 2WD, Same with 4LO, I checked the Vaccuum Lines, and the TC cable, Diaphragm, Connections to the TCCM(Looked Brand New only has 84,000 Miles), Turned out to be a blown fuse #15, so I dropped a 30A in there and everything started working again, once again we go to the mudhole and 4WD won't engage again. Now it just pops the fuse everytime I push 4WD otherwise the fuse stays good. The CRTSY fuse was taken out when I bought the truck, however I put one back in, perhaps that's causing the problems? I just can't figure it out, everything else works, gauges, OHD, etc.

Thanks in advance, Krisi

Also, I'm not a mechanic, but I do know a bit about engines so don't be shy giving directions just because i'm a girl lol.

Update, Wiggled some wire on the driver side of the transfer case above the front Drive Shaft, and unplugged the front end actuator switch, and 4WD is engaging again. Do I need the front end actuator switch or can I just leave it unpluggeD?

Sounds like a short, look on wires you wiggled for a bare one. Could be touching metal a d blowing the fuse

Okay, so it's definitely the Front Differential 4WD Solenoid/4WD Actuator in the front axle. I plugged it in and it popped it again. Is there a way to bypass this until I can get the part to fix it? Because I live in a rural area and need 4WD often. The part is kind of scarce the only ones I can find are for old C/K 1500's

Edit, So i guess this doesn't have the front axle solenoid like the 96 1500 I have it has this cable with a plus, this is what I unplugged, what is it called, and what does it do? I went to take it off but it started dripping gear oil and I don't have any to replace it so I tightened it back.http://imgur.com/a/zrUis The link is a picture of the part, it has 3 bolts and a cable coming out of it.

Hi so mine does the same but sometimes it will work and engage properly into 4x4 but after switching a couple times the fuse blows again. If you found the problem please let me know. I checked that same front diff actuator and it seems fine and my parts store couldn’t find it, kinda weird how it’s so hard to find!!!

My 98 Blazer 4x4 kept blowing the #15 10amp fuse until I replaced the front passenger side wheel hub assembly. It comes with a new abs sensor and that was what was blowing the fuse. When the fuse blew my gas gauge, and many other gauges quit working...No problem as of now
