You are 100 percent right, they werent doing anything besides testing my patience.

A friend of mine stopped by and I explained all the goings on with him. He pointed out the only thing I had not changed was the retard scanning the computer. Good point. So I called the automotive wiring place in town, he reflashed or programmed or something on the junkyard ecm and POOF by some miracle of grease monkey magic it starts, runs, AND shifts pretty well. He did indicate to me that the timing was 45 degrees off. I think I just stabbed the distributor on the wrong timing mark. He suggested some jackassy manuver with grinding the distributor clamp down so the distributor could be rotated. I think NNNOOOOOOOOOOOO

My partner, I still wonder what world he lives in. According to him, jumping out two wires to fool the truck into thinking it was in park for a sensor to get programmed which I still think was a big fat load, was a jury rig, and modifying the distributor to rotate apparently is not. I posed this question to him and got that exact response. Apparently its not a rig if he wants to do it. This is why I turn wrenches and he slings paint, and it should stay that way. He claims he can do all the mechanical stuff, but I do it faster. Sure thing buddy. Im alittle irritated with him.

I klnow I am aggravated as I write this but please understand my frustrations
You guys have awesome smilies btw

Whenever the crankshaft position sensor is disturbed in any way, the relearn must be done. This includes moving, removing or replacing the sensor and/or the timing cover. The relearn must be done with a capable scan tool. The first step of the relearn is to bring the engine to 4,000 RPM. After the relearn is complete, camshaft retard should also be checked and adjusted if necessary. Spec is zero degrees plus or minus 2 degrees with the engine above 2000 RPM. To adjust it, the distributor is rotated slightly. If it's off more than approx 27 degrees, P1345 will be set in memory and the SES light will come on. With #1 piston at TDC of compression stroke, the distributor must be installed like this when it is fully seated in the intake manifold:

I stand corrected on the procedure. I researched it and i understand what the computer is looking for now.

Ok well, apparentlky 45 degrees off on timing is equal to about one tooth on the distributor gear. In all fairness though it is pretty tight back there without much light, especially when moving the distributor other than 180, with the oil pump drive and all.

My bad!!! I screwed the distributor up!!! Im only human!!!

Ok, I aprreciate the help from all of you, this heap acts right so its going on craigslist. You have not seen the last of me though. I have a 94 blazer coming in next. Why cant I get away from blazers?

I am still hunting a ds side mirror for it, power or not, I dont care. Its almost completely new mechanically, so Im leaving this one with its bumps and scrapes. IOts ffffaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr from its heart

There are 13 teeth on the distributor drive gear so one tooth off would be just over 27 degrees. Glad you got her going. Good luck on Craigs list!
