Default 99 Blazer – Electrical Issues:

Fuel gauge = ‘E’ (below empty)
Temp gauge = wrong too low and never changes
Battery Light = On
Low Fuel Light = On
4x4 Selector = No Lights
Noticed Speedometer acted erratic only once (jumped down then back up to the proper indication). None of these issues appeared until last night when going for my evening run to pick up some refreshments… Oh, one other thing, it has been raining here quite a bit recently (Indianapolis area). I took the fuse box loose and did not see anything obvious but then again I am new with this machine.

Some history, I just purchased this fine machine 2 months ago. Have replaced plug wires, plugs, rotor and cap. She runs like a new one. No rust. I love this Truck and need some help if anyone has some suggestions

Thanks
Joe

Here is an update: I found one of the 10amp fuses was blown. Visually it appeared ok but the sucker did not pass the continuity test...replaced and all is well again.

I forgot to say which fuse: the 10amp fuse for the 4x4 control panel. I am stumped as to why that one fuse affected all the things it did but not complaining while everything is working!

I have a 99 blazer 4x4 with an electrical problem. As far as,low fuel, no temperature, battery light on, abs light on, seat belt light on, service engine and security light. Ive bought the chilton book no help. I have been told over and over again it's a ground behind the dash.

I had the exact same symptoms, also on a 99 Blazer 4x4. Local garage had it two weeks and gave up. Garage temp swapped the EMC no help. I swapped the instrument cluster and no help. Read Joetheblazer posts here and guess what, my 4WD 10A fuse was blown too. Replaced the fuse and BAM! everything started working again. Fuel gauge started working, battery light went out, temp gauge started working again, 4x4 panel started working again and reverse image block on PRND321 started working again!!! Joetheblazer, you helped me out BIG TIME!!! Saved me untold mechanic charges I was facing. Joetheblazer, may the gods smile down upon you!!!!!
